Title: Hadronic Corrections to Muon Anomalies

Abstract: Low-energy observables measured to high precision provide stringent tests of the Standard Model of particle physics. Even though we expect the Standard Model to be an effective-field theory valid in a limited domain of energy scales, no convincing signs of its breakdown have been seen so far. There are, however, a few observations involving muons which hint at physics beyond the Standard Model: the muon g-2 and the proton radius puzzle. In both of these “muon anomalies", the uncertainty in the knowledge of hadronic corrections is the leading one on the SM side.
In this talk, I will discuss the following topics:
1. Proton-polarizability effects in muonic hydrogen from baryon chiral perturbation theory.
2. The Schwinger sum rule as a new data-driven dispersive approach for the evaluation of hadronic corrections to the muon g-2.
3. Short-distance constraints for the hadronic light-by-light contribution to the muon g-2
