Title:     Transportation of Radioactive Materials and Type-B Fissile Packages

Abstract: Alison will report on her research into packaging and transport of radioactive materials as well as the Transportation Program at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories in Chalk River. She will elaborate on the background of the design and testing of Type-B packages and summarize a technical paper, “Efficiencies in Procurement and Licensing of Type-B Fissile Package".

Alison has started as a "RIB target & Ion Sources Engineer" in the Targets & Ion Sources Department. She holds a BASc (chemical engineering) from U of Ottawa, and brings to TRIUMF in particular experience from Canadian Nuclear Laboratories where she worked as a program officer in (a) Transportation of Dangerous Goods, and in (b) Nuclear Materials & Safeguards Management.
