-----------------------
High energy neutrinos are gathering attention for their ability to resolve their origin and therefore allow multi-messenger astronomy valuable insights into the forges of the highest energy particles observed to date. IceCube and KM3Net are leading experiments covering a large fraction of the observable universe for high energy neutrinos. A new idea, the Canadian P-ONE experiment has emerged to fill the gap these experiments will leave in sky coverage. P-ONE will be located in the deep Pacific Ocean, in an area already instrumented for science by Ocean Networks Canada, the Cascadia Basin. The P-ONE collaboration has so far deployed two test setups in this area and is running these instruments to gain operational experience and to measure the optical properties of the water in the Pacific Ocean. Results so far encourage the use of this site. I will present the current status of P-ONE and present the plans for future development.
