Title:     Searching for dark matter axions with MADMAX

Abstract: The nature of dark matter and the "strong CP problem" remain some of the most intriguing puzzles in particle physics today. The QCD axion provides an elegant solution to both problems simultaneously, and experimental searches for axions have garnered increasing interest in recent years. Traditional cavity-based axion experiments such as ADMX have achieved remarkable sensitivities. However, they are unable to detect axions in the well-motivated mass range of ~100 microelectronvolts. The dielectric haloscope concept presents a promising way to detect axions in the mass range of 40-400 microelectronvolts. In this talk, I will present such a dielectric haloscope experiment - the MAgnetized Disc and Mirror Axion eXperiment (MADMAX), including the design, R&D developments, and its future prospect.
