Title: (Time changed) Theory for fundamental symmetry tests with tailored molecules containing heavy isotopes
Abstract: Molecules naturally generate internal fields that can in principle be
tailored specifically as to enhance or suppress different effects from
violations of fundamental symmetries, be it nuclear spin-independent P-odd
interactions and nuclear anapole moments or P,T-odd contributions
like electric dipole moments and Schiff moments. Theory plays, thus, a
crucial role in i) identifying suitable molecules with favourable
enhancement factors, ii) discovering pathways for efficient production of
target molecules with desired isotopic composition as well as iii)
analysing successful experiments in terms of fundamental parameters.
I will discuss in this talk the specific examples of RaF, which was
predicted entirely from scratch to be a molecular candidate for direct
laser-cooling [1,2] and subsequently studied in detail by
laser-spectroscopy [3,4], as well as PaF^{3+} [5], which is predicted to
provide outstanding opportunities to search for a pronounced Schiff moment
of the 229Pa nucleus.
