Title: Searching for nu-physics with MicroBooNE: Low Energy Excess and eV-scale Sterile Neutrino Oscillations

Abstract: The MicroBooNE experiment employs an 85-tonne active volume liquid argon time projection chamber to detect neutrinos from both the on-axis Booster Neutrino Beam (BNB) and off-axis Neutrinos at the Main Injector (NuMI) beam. In this talk, I will present the results from MicroBooNE's low energy excess (LEE) search based on a search for single photons as well as an anomalous excess of electron neutrino events. I will also discuss the latest results that use these well-understood selections to perform a search for an eV scale sterile neutrino in the 3+1 oscillation framework. Constraints are presented for regions of sterile neutrino oscillation parameter space relevant to the Gallium/Reactor electron neutrino disappearance anomaly and LSND/MiniBooNE electron neutrino appearance anomalies. The impact of a degeneracy caused by the cancellation of electron neutrino appearance and disappearance, and the demonstration of the degeneracy mitigation by combining results from the BNB an
d NuMI beams which have substantially different electron neutrino/muon neutrino ratios, will also be described.
