Title:     Searching for new physics with decays at rest

Abstract: Positively charged long-lived SM particles come to rest via electromagnetic energy loss when transiting through matter. Examples include muons, pions, and kaons. If these particles decay at rest they can produce monoenergetic signals that are highly distinctive, and this is especially attractive at experiments with high intensity sources of muons, pions, or kaons.  I will discuss recently proposed searches for new physics in \mu^+ ---> e^+ X , \pi^+ ---> e^+ X (at Mu2e and COMET) and K-> a \pi (at JSNS^2).   Based on  2308.08589 & 2310.00043.
