Date/Time: Wed Aug 26 2026 at 10:30<br/><br/>Location: ISAC II Conf. Room<br/><br/>Speaker: Vincent Bosquet (GANIL)<br/><br/>Title: Toward the Production of 100Sn<br/><br/>Abstract: SPIRAL1 (France) is an ISOL facility that has been producing radioactive ion beams (RIBs) for the past 25 years. The use of fragmentation as the main production mechanism limits the production to nuclei near the valley of stability. To overcome this limitation, a new production system is currently nearing the end of its development. Its final goal is to produce RIBs in the region of 100Sn using fusion-evaporation.
 
My PhD work consisted of creating a new electron-impact ion source, which will be the main topic of my talk. I'll present the design, simulation, and prototyping of this source, as well as the on-line experiment that produced RIBs up to 74Rb.
