Dear TRIUMF Experimenters, Users, Staff,
The draft Beam Schedule 140 for the period April 9th - October 4th is now available to view at https://mis.triumf.ca/schedule/view?schedule=140&revision=PUBLIC_DRAFT.
Important notes:
Mini Shutdown: The exact start date and duration of the Mini-Shutdown is currently in question due to the requirement of switchgear installation at IAMI - a situation that should become clear over the next week. For now a date of October 4th is proposed, though this will potentially move forward to September 28th.
ISAC Experiments: Due to the current inability to predict the easing of restrictions regarding cross-border travel and laboratory occupancy limits for the summer, note that some ISAC experiments involving non-local groups have only been provisionally scheduled. These are reflected on the schedule as "TBA" in the ISAC "Note" column. We will contact those spokespersons separately to indicate that if all goes well, the experiments can be firmly scheduled and announced by June 1st. In the event inhibitory restrictions are still in place at that time, we will move to replace some of those experiments with backup ones involving local groups. We appreciate your patience in this matter. Also note that ISAC 𝛽-NMR experiment details will be inserted into the schedule at a later date.
μSR experiments: These have been scheduled up to August 10th. All experiments that have been scheduled are either for local users or remote experimenters who have local collaborators. There is time available on M20/LAMPF for remote experiments , but spokespersons need to make arrangements for local assistance. Spokespersons are asked to contact Iain McKenzie if they are interested in this time and need local collaborators. Available dates are June 22th - 29th, July 6th - 20th and July 27th - August 10th. μSR experiments for the remainder of Schedule 140 and the whole of Schedule 141 (Fall 2021) will be scheduled after the summer MMS-EEC meeting, which is scheduled for Monday, June 21st and Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021. The submission deadline for this meeting will be Wednesday, April 28th, 2021.
Comments, corrections, or change requests can be made up until March 22nd, when the schedule will move to active status. Please direct those to:
