Here are the points to consider for the discussion.
1/ The measurement relies on Internal conversion of neutral 229mTh.
2/ Steps that are followed->Make 229mTh ion-> Separate 229mTh ion from
other stuff->neutralize on a detector->Make sure detector response is
due to
229mTh.
3/ How does this help to make a clock ?
4/ What is special about this transition ?
5/ Why has it taken so long to detect this transition ?
6/ The half life changes depending on charge state.
7/ Once the transition is confirmed how is the energy range of this decay
estimated ?
8/ How realistic is a goal of having a nuclear clock in a decade from now ?
