Hello Fellow Data Scientists!
A few people managed to show up for our introductory meeting today, and I've attached a slide deck of what we went over.
Tentatively speaking, I am planning another meeting next week, but I'll have to coordinate with the ISAC journal club to see if they are starting up yet, if not, then we might steal their time slot.
The tentative plan moving forward is that we meet every two weeks each taking turns teaching a quick lesson of some sort (we would decide who is teaching which week in advance). For those that have time, we would follow along with a free online course, and it is this online course that we would use as the basis for these lessons.
Finally, someone pointed out that on Oct 3 there is going to be a Quantum Computing conference in town which would conflict with our meeting with Mirko, so we are going to try to reschedule Mirko's visit to some other time.
Cheers,
David Livermore
