Hi Oliver,
Just for clarity: the idea is that the presentation(s) will be pre-recorded without interruptions, played back (also without interruptions?) and then discussed afterwards?
Are you aiming for one single 10-minute presentation for all of PP, SciTech and Scientific computing?
Thanks,
Isabel

Dear Colleagues,
The next ACOT meeting will take place Nov 18th -20th. The format has changed considerably (requested by ACOT) compared to previous iterations.
The overview talks for the parallel sessions are this time to be pre-recorded a week in advance of the ACOT meeting itself but still open for attendance.
The two possible dates for these pre-recording sessions are currently Nov 10th and 12th (TBC).
The Science Tech (ST), Particle Physics (PP), Scientific Computing (SC) parallel session will take place on Friday Nov 19th from 8:30-9:30am.
For this session, 50 minutes should be reserved for discussion and at most 10 minutes are to be used for one or two short presentations.
The 10 minutes is of course very short, but I suggest we basically have a very condensed set of research highlights there since the last ACOT.
There will also be a poster session. Time and date to be announced.
What I need to ask you is the following:
* Suggestion for poster presenters (by the end of this week, Oct 29th)
* Send me a 1 slide of research highlights per group (by Nov 5th)
* A few sentences on progress of graduate student and postdoc projects that were impacted by COVID (by Nov 5th)
I was asked to prepare the sides for the overview talk and am also asking for inputs from SciTech and SciComp but plan to circulate a draft by Nov 8th.
Apologies for the short notice on the deadlines. Also this is quite a change in format, so let’s see how it goes.
Best regards,
Oliver
