GAPS 'Dumb Questions' Workshop with Michelle Lollie

Hey there GAPS community!

Happy 2022! We're keen to start working on one of our new year's resolutions, so we've organized a funky and slightly different EDI workshop for you all to start off the year. We're very lucky to have Michelle Lollie, physics grad student in Quantum Photonics at Louisiana State University and member of the APS-IDEA Steering Committee, calling in to answer all the EDI questions you've been wanting to ask but don't know how.

On Monday 17th January @ 2pm PST we'll be having a "Dumb Questions" Workshop with Michelle. The idea is that many people have EDI questions that we know are touchy, but we can't easily answer. I'm thinking things like "What's wrong with asking a racialized person where they are from?" or "Why do we need EDI statements?" We'll have an anonymous Q&A on slido<https://app.sli.do/event/9ggYwgSob4mZBdcNoPGaWF> (see link or go to slido.com with #739577) where participants can ask the questions they've been wondering and Michelle will do her best to answer them in a non-judgmental space. Whilst there will literally be "no dumb questions here", we ask that everyone keep their questions respectful!
