Hello PHAS community, A reminder that the first Astronomy on Tap - Vancouver event will be taking place this Wednesday, January 31 at Bimini’s Pub & Lounge (2010 W 4th Ave). Doors open at 6pm, and talks will start at 6:30pm.

Here's a little bit about the mission of AoT: "Each (usually free) event features accessible, engaging science presentations on space and science topics ranging from planets to black holes to galaxies to the beginning of the Universe, along with trivia and other games, prizes, music, and more surprises! Presenters are from typically from local research and educational institutions, but may also include visiting scientists, educators, artists, and more. There is always lots of time to ask questions and interact with the presenters and other scientists who inevitably tag along for the fun." We are excited to hear from the following speakers: Dr. Ryley Hill: “Studying galaxies in the early Universe with the James Webb Space Telescope” Maude Larivière: “A hidden history of women in astronomy” Please consider joining us at the end of your workday for a drink, science, prizes, and fun! You can also follow us on social media @aotvancouver ! Cheers, GAPS and The Astronomy on Tap Vancouver team We are grateful to our hosts Bimini’s Pub, a woman-owned queer bar in Kitsilano. We have a zero tolerance policy for any disrespect, prejudice, or hateful speech/behavior of any kind.
