2026 Extended shutdown impact survey

Dear Grads & Postdocs,

In 2026, TRIUMF is very likely to have an extended shutdown of the main accelerator lasting 16 months in order to complete ARIEL. This will have a significant impact on many communities at TRIUMF that depend on the main accelerator to complete their research goals, GAPS included.

GAPS has been invited to give a presentation during the 5-year-plan day of Science Week on the impact of this extended shutdown on the GAPS community. In order to better inform ourselves of all GAPS members, the GAPS Committee conducted a brainstorming session on Friday to gain qualitative data, and is now following up this session with a survey to gain quantitative data.

We kindly ask that you take some time to fill it out in order to help the GAPS Committee discuss the impact of an extended shutdown, as well as any mitigation and contingency plans that you may have discussed with your supervisor.
The survey will be kept anonymous, and you have until Monday July 22nd, end of day, to fill it out.
