Chicken and egg problem here: to install Linux on a brand new computer
one needs to register it with TRIUMF DHCP first, but without an OS
installed how can one find out the ethernet mac address?

I have know of two solutions for this: 1) boot Knoppix, run "ifconfig eth0",
2) enable PXE/DHCP boot in the BIOS, somewhere along the line, the BIOS
will print the MAC address.

Ideally, the SL installer should print the MAC address on
the screen in big letters.

I recommend at least 20 GB for "/"
