Title:     Production of Radioisotopes for Diagnosis and Therapy

Abstract: The positron emission tomography (PET) group at TRIUMF produces compounds labeled with radioisotopes (radiotracers) for diagnosis of disease.  Currently, the group produces tracers labeled with 11C and 18F for research of Parkinson's disease. 13N is also produced for botany studies.  Research is also being conducted into the production of new metal radioisotopes for diagnosis and therapy.  An overview of PET targetry and status of recent projects will be discussed.
