Good morning,

Today's seminar resumes the lunchtime technical seminar series that used
to be organized by Toshio Numao a few years ago. The seminars will now
be held on Fridays (12:30pm) every two weeks.
The goal of the series is to help sharing technical expertise within
TRIUMF as well as learn about new technologies. The seminars will also
help me learn about projects that LADD (Laboratory of Advanced Detector
Development) could contribute to.
The next technical seminars will be:
- A special seminar on Tuesday June 7 (12:30pm) on Silicon Drift
Detector, by Johanes Zmeskal from Vienna
- On June 17, the VAMOS experiment at GANIL, by Herve Savajols (GANIL)
who is visiting TRIUMF for a year
- On June 30, T2K TPC (to be confirmed)

Please contact me if you are interested in giving a technical seminar. I
will also be bugging people in the coming months so that every projects
of technical interest (detector or accelerator or something else) going
on a TRIUMF will eventually be covered. This seminar are a good
opportunity for young staff, postdoc and student to discuss their work.
So, I would like to encourage junior to give talks.

Please come to today's seminar. The TACTIC TPC is a very interesting and
challenging technical project.

Fabrice
