Title:     Coupling phonons in finite nuclei

Abstract: The issue of coupling between single particle motion and collective excitations in closed shell nuclei will be considered and linked to processes such as two-nucleon transfer,  nucleon nucleus scattering and alpha particle clustering.  Modern many-body theories can now start to handle these issues from a microscopic point of view with a certain accuracy. I will discuss some results and their sensitivity to different nuclear forces.
