Title:     The Beijing Radioactive Ion-beam Facility: Project Outline and Progress with the Design and Construction of the 100 MeV High Intensity Cyclotron

Abstract: The Beijing Radioactive Ion-beam Facility (BRIF) is a new RIB facility for the productions of intense proton and radioactive ion beam (RIB) used in fundamental and applied research, e.g., neutron physics, nuclear structure, material and life sciences and medical isotope production. This project has been started in CIAE since 2004. In this project, a 100 MeV H- cyclotron is selected as the driving accelerator, providing a 75 MeV - 100 MeV, 200 ľA - 500 ľA proton beam. This talk will describe briefly several aspects
about the 100 MeV Cyclotron design, such as preparation for construction, beam dynamics, magnet, RF system and beam lines. Some R&D results for this 100 MeV machine will also be given.
