Title: Rp-process Nucleosynthesis studied with RESOLUT: The lowest l=0 resonance in 26Si

Abstract: The study of astrophysically important reaction rates with radioactive beam facilities has been a of nuclear physics research in a number of laboratories. At Florida State University's Tandem-Linac laboratory, we have developed a in-flight radioactive beam facility called RESOLUT, using based on a superconducting RF-resonator and a large-acceptance magnetic spectrograph. The first experiments performed at RESOLUT include a proton-transfer measurement on a 25Al beam and inelastic proton scattering of 7Be. I will discuss the results from the 25Al experiments, where we identified the lowest l = 0 proton resonance and measured its proton-spectroscopic factor. The measurement sheds a new light on the details of the 26Alm,g production and the astrophysical implications of the 26Alg observation in the galaxy.

Stimulants available 15 minutes before the talk.
