Title:     Nuclear Structure and Fundamental Symmetries with chiral Effective Field Theory Forces and Currents

Abstract: Chiral EFT provides a systematic expansion of nuclear forces and consistent electroweak currents valid at low energies.

It naturally includes two-body (NN) and three-body (3N) forces. I will present results based on these forces studying neutron- and proton-rich medium-mass isotope and isotone chains. The theoretical predictions using NN+3N forces are in very good agreement with very recent experimental data.

Similarly chiral EFT currents comprise one-body (1b) and two-body (2b) currents, previously only explored in lightest systems. I will present results that extend the study of 2b currents to medium-mass nuclei, exploring its effects on Gamow-Teller transitions, neutrinoless double-beta decay (crucial to understand the nature and masses of neutrinos) and WIMP-nucleus scattering (relevant for direct detection of Dark Matter).
