Title: Shape Coexistence in Neutron-Rich Rubidium Isotopes Around A~100
Abstract: Shape coexistence is a present interest in nuclear physics and has been investigated via a number of different methods. Laser spectroscopy is one such method, where the nuclear moments and changes in mean-square charge radius of exotic nuclei can be measured to track shape behaviours across an isotopic chain. In an experimental campaign at TRIUMF, the neutron-rich 98Rb isotope was investigated and the presence of a long-lived isomeric state was directly observed for the first time. The nuclear properties of the ground state and isomeric state will be discussed along with how laser spectroscopy measurements can be performed to further the understanding of shape coexistence.
