Title:     Development of neutron electric dipole moment experiments at SNS and at Los Alamos

Abstract: Permanent electric dipole moments (EDMs) provide a very sensitive probe of new sourcesof CP (charge conjugation and parity) violation. A new neutron EDM experiment, based on a novel cryogenic method, is being developed to be mounted at the Spallation Neutron Source of Oak Ridge National Laboratory with a sensitivity goal of delta dn ~ 5e-­28 e cm, roughly two orders of magnitude improvement over the current limit. In addition, there is an effort for developing a neutron EDM experiment at Los Alamos National Laboratory with a sensitivity goal of delta dn ~ 3e-27 e cm, taking advantage of its ultracold neutron source. In this talk, the current status of the development of these two experiments will be discussed.
