Title: Study of atmospheric and accelerator neutrinos oscillations using the Super-Kamiokande detector

Abstract: The neutrino, despite its abundance in the universe, is still relatively unknown due to a low interaction probability that makes it hard to detect and study. In this presentation, I will focus on one of the active area of research on neutrinos, flavor oscillation: a neutrino produced in a given flavor can later be detected in a different one. The discovery of this phenomenon at the end of the 20th proved that neutrinos had non-zero masses, leading to a first modification of the standard model. Today, more precise studies of the oscillations could contribute to answer fundamental questions such as the dominance of matter over anti-matter in the universe, and provide hints of new physics through tests of the standard model describing the oscillations.

Many current experiments study neutrino oscillations, and ambitious ones are planned for the future. In this presentation I will focus on their study in the Super-Kamiokande detector located in Japan, with neutrinos of two different origins: atmospheric neutrinos studied by the Super-Kamiokande collaboration, and artificial neutrinos produced using an accelerator in the Tokai to Kamioka (T2K) experiment. I will present how the oscillations are studied in each case, what results were obtained concerning the open questions on neutrino oscillations, and discuss the interest of a joint analysis of the data of those two experiments using a common detector.
