Title:     Highly charged ions for dark matter searches

Abstract: I will give an overview of the clock proposals with highly charged ions and their applications for “new physics” searches, such as searches for dark matter, variation of fundamental constants, violation of the local Lorentz invariance, and forces beyond the Standard Model of particle physics. The selection of highly charged ions in different charge states offers narrow optical transitions that are among the most sensitive ones to the "new physics" effects. I will also discuss other recent theoretical developments in predicting properties of highly charged ions.
