Title: A rational approach to chelation chemistry for the near-invisible: coordination chemistry for emerging radiometals of interest
Abstract: This presentation will discuss the efforts introducing innovative coordination chemistry strategies to selectively capture diagnostic and therapeutic radionuclides for their direct and facile transformation into ready-to-inject radiopharmaceuticals
Dr. Eszter Boros is an Associated Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. She obtained her PhD at UBC Chemistry with Dr. Chris Orvig in 2011 before moving to Harvard Medical School/ Massachusetts General Hospital for Postdoc and later as an Instructor. She started her independent research program at Stony Brook University in 2017 and very recently joined the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Her research interest is focused on medicinal inorganic chemistry, covering a wide range of topics from fundamental chelation chemistry to their applications in radiopharmaceuticals for the imaging and therapy of cancers and infectious diseases. She is the recipient of many prestigious awards. Some of the recent ones include 2022 Young Investigator in Medicinal Chemistry Award (ACS MEDI division Fall 2022), Chem Soc Rev 2022 Emerging Investigator Award, Chem Commun 2022 Emerging Investigator Award and Scialog Fellow: Advanced Bioimaging (2023).
The lecture will be hybrid. For those who join remotely:
